An intelligent script is the key selling point of “Crossing Dates”, a relay drama that offers multiple viewpoints but has difficulty demonstrating why they’re pieced together. With prison as her centerpiece, novice helmer-scribe Anca Damian folds together life in and out of the slammer, underscoring her characters’ disappointment and inability to grab what life has to offer. Though the three storylines don’t play to equal strengths, Damian reveals enough budding talent to warrant interest in future efforts. – Jay Weissberg – Variety
