The 46th Edition of the Hong Kong International Film Festival took place between Aug 15 – 31st and has grown to be Hong Kong’s largest cultural event and is one of Asia’s most reputable platforms for filmmakers, film professionals and filmgoers from all over the world to launch new work and experience outstanding films. The Island screened as part of the festival selection.
”Anca Damian’s follow-up to Marona’s Fantastic Tale (45th) is a psychedelic reinvention of Daniel Defoe’s literary classic. Propelled by catchy songs and a free-wheeling, psychedelic style that fuses science-fiction and fantasy, The Island transforms its titular destination into a realm of possibilities, reflecting the world in all its ugliness, as well as its paradise potential.”
